Yorgo Ilyadis was born in Adapazarı in 1914. He spent his childhood in Adapazarı before moving to İstanbul with his family and starting to work in a workshop where film screening machines were maintained. He and Necip Erses started radio manufacturing in 1933.
In 1935, he went to Germany to work on sound filmmaking technique in the Klangfilm Company. On his return to İstanbul, he became one of the founders of Marmara Film Studio. He then founded Ses Film Studio with Necip Erses in 1943. He worked as a sound engineer in many films including Susuz Yaz (1963), Turist Ömer (1964), Vesikalı Yarim (1968), and Ala Geyik (1969). He died in Thessaloniki in 1974.
